July 2019: The bestseller Avanza and Chinese cars pass from Xenia

The Low Multipurpose Vehicle (MPV) Competition Card continues to change every month. In the last two years, there has not been a true secure position, each product has the potential to upset its competitors.

In July 2019, this is an example of stiff competition in the low-van segment.

The China Wuling Confero model, which has been launched since 2017, is now superior to the former Daihatsu Xenia. Daihatsu was able to sell only 676 units of Xenia based on wholesale data provided by the Indonesian Association of Automotive Industry Industries (Gaikindo). This resulted in her placing seventh on the list of the lowest-selling minivans, and not the seventh this year.

Meanwhile, Confero sold 728 units and was in sixth position. Confero sales are slightly different from those of the Nissan Livina with 737 units in fifth position.

In total, the leader in the minivans market is now owned by Toyota Avanza, which sells 7,000 units. Its closest competitor, the Mitsubishi Xpander, seems to have found a precise pace of 5,000 units per month. Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Managing Director of Toyota Astra Motor, thanked everyone who has so far always trusted their mobility needs.

"Of course, we will continue to actively introduce new products that meet the needs of the Indonesian people," said the man who was familiarly known as Soerjo. Suzuki Ertiga ranks third among the best-selling minivans with 2,095 units, and Honda Mobilio is in fourth place with a record of 1,195.

Donny Saputra, sales director of Suzuki Indomobil's four-wheel drive sales division, said Ertiga's sales in July 2019 were a blessing for the company. Donny said sales had increased, particularly with retail data or reseller sales to consumers. Donny said Ertiga's retail sales reached 2,900 units.

"For this retail, 2,900. The Ertiga Suzuki Sport model has contributed a lot to about 750 units, while we were targeting 500 units per month," Donny said at a meeting in Cirebon, West Java .
